Chicks

What’s the connection between chicks and Easter?

Little chicks (or baby chickens) are the Easter symbol because they symbolize fertility, new life, and rebirth, which are also key themes of Easter. Easter reflects the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the symbolism of chicks emerging from eggs resonates with notions of creation and regeneration. Easter, along with its renewal of the world, coincides with the birth of many animals, including chicks. Therefore, the chick has become associated with Easter decorations, gifts and festivals. They often take the form of soft toys, ornaments, or even sweets (such as marshmallow Peeps) as part of the celebration of Easter.
